Routine dental checkup

We believe in “Prevention better than cure” policy. In addition to daily brushing and flossing, you can protect your oral health by seeing your dentist for check up every 6 months.

Many dental problems become known to you only when the pain starts and that is late. In times of stress or illness, you may need to see a dentist more often than usual. Eg- Pregnancy.

Cleaning/Scaling

Cleaning/scaling means scraping off the tartar from above and below the gum line. Ultrasonic instruments are used for this nowadays.

So there is no damage to enamel like in earlier days. Scaling has to be ideally done once in 6 months. Bleeding from gums is a sign that a professional cleaning from a dentist is overdue.

Extraction

Tooth extraction is the removal of tooth. It can be SIMPLE EXTRACTION or SURGICAL EXTRACTION( Impaction). Extraction is done under local anaesthesia and is a minor surgical procedure.

Discussing about drug allergies, medical problems, bleeding disorders etc with the dentist prior to extraction is a must. Depending on the severity of the case, medicines will be prescribed by your dentist. You will also be given after care instructions.

Restorations/Fillings

Unlike earlier days, when all fillings were black or silver, we have tooth coloured fillings now. So these days, fixing a cavity doesn’t mean compromising your smile.

They bind to tooth surface and need lesser tooth preparation than silver amalgam fillings. But the best option for a certain cavity will be suggested by your dentist. Porcelain onlays and inlays are also available for larger or more complex restorations.

Root Canal Treatment

When your tooth decay has spread so deep that the infection reaches the pulp-cavity (this is unbearable, often throbbing pain occurring at night), or when you experience a strong blow to the teeth, even without symptoms such that the pulp may also die.

When there is a serious damage to the crown such that the fracture reaches the nerve canal, - Root Canal Treatment may become necessary. The easiest and simplest way to deal with a dead or aching tooth is to pull it out. But when a tooth is pulled out it has to be replaced eventually, failing which, the teeth in the opposite row of teeth, grow out more from its line or the adjacent tooth could tilt into the empty space. Therefore, this treatment becomes imperative to clean the decay, and initially provide a temporary filling. The permanent root canal filling takes place a few days later, followed by the filling of the tooth, or putting a crown on the tooth. The procedure is mostly painless, but it takes longer than a simple filling. In order to minimize the pain during the root canal procedure, for those patients who arrive with severe toothache, we apply pain relief medication, so that the root canal treatment can be done painlessly. A permanent treatment such as this, could minimize the decay and the consequent pain caused, leaving you stress free and happy in your daily life.

Bridges, Crowns and dentures

When the original shape of the tooth cannot be restored by aesthetic filling, the tooth must be sanded. Impressions are taken of the polished tooth pursuing to which the technician will prepare the ceramic crown.

By making bridges the teeth adjacent to missing teeth has to be reduced. After the impressions the dental technician prepares the bridge. Tooth replacement is only possible if the teeth under the crown are in sound condition. Our dental specialists are experts in both Metal-ceramic and Metal-Free crowns (porcelain) and bridges. The advantages of the latter being, its ability to be stronger, perfectly mimic natural enamel, gray-free gumline, size and shape precision, and microscopic edge closure. Our goal is to restore normal chewing function, aesthetics, and patient satisfaction.

Our professional Orthodontists will help rectify all these dental structure flaws giving your teeth an aesthetic appearance, even from an early age.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Veneers help people accomplish a healthy, natural looking and beautiful smile with little or no discomfort.

A direct veneer is built up over the tooth surface by hand. It is most commonly done using tooth colored composite resin. Direct veneers are a simpler procedure, and are generally done in a single appointment. They are less expensive but do tend to deteriorate more quickly and rarely get the high level of aesthetics that indirect veneers achieve. Indirect veneers/Ceramic Veneers are very thin, custom made shells crafted of tooth colored materials designed to cover the front side of the teeth. Veneers help people accomplish a healthy, natural looking and beautiful smile with little or no discomfort.

Implants

Too many people who have conventional dentures don’t wear them for the simple fact that they don’t stay in place.

Dental implants offer a way to keep dentures in place and allow you to go about your daily life with confidence. The use of implant-supported dentures has been successful for thousands of people. The number of patients treated continues to grow as word spreads about the effectiveness and long-term durability. In fact, dental implants are reported to have the highest success rate of any implantable surgical device.
